For the longest time, I was not going to Bronycon. Couldn't afford it. Sad fact of life. Not gonna happen.
Then the news kept getting bigger. Bigger names were announced. More friends of mine confirmed their tickets. The talk was incessant. And, while I knew I couldn't really afford it, a little part of me did want to meet some of the folks I've met on this strange and fantastic journey of mixing spastic dance music with technicolor equines.
...so, in a mood for daydreaming and fantasy (and after the most generous of invitations from a very good friend), I looked up the prices of attendance.
Easily half of what they were when I first looked.
...I began to do the math. Gears began to turn in my head. I've been better about saving, and while I DID have a few things going on this weekend, ultimately they weren't so strongly set in stone that withdrawing from them would leave them in a bind.
I consulted with MLP fans. I consulted with family members, with people who knew how this could work. I presented new data, new information, that simply wasn't there before.
All signs pointed to one answer.
Ladies.
Gentlemen.
...I will be attending Summer Bronycon 2012.
